You can complete a maximum effort test with increasing pedal intensity. Your own bicycle is mounted on a professional and exceptionally accurate ergometer. Depending on your age and gender, the test starts at 70/100W and increases in output per 8 mins by 30/40W, until you can’t do any more. During the test, the output, pedalling frequency and heart rate is monitored. Every 4 minutes, the lactic acid in the blood is also measured as a basis of establishing individual training zones. Finally, at the end of the test, the maximum oxygen absorption is measured by means of ergospirometry.
After the test, there is an in-depth discussion of the test results. This will examine the strengths and weaknesses and specific training advice can be formulated on this basis (12-week training schedule). You can then train in greater comfort and achieve improved efficiency in terms of health and performance!
