Some accommodation locations welcome bicycles with open arms. There are a range of labels to indicate which ones. Depending on your route, you will not always be able to enjoy the comfort of a hotel or camp site.
But there will always be a few villagers along the way. Experience has taught us that they can be very handy. Even if you can’t pitch your tent in their garden, they will usually help you find a route to a suitable camping area. Wild camping is often not permitted, particularly in the more urban areas. So check the relevant legislation before you leave.
