Cycling is more popular then ever. You can do it when you want, with whom you want, wherever you want. The risk of injury is low, meaning you can continue to bike regardless of your age. And finally, it’s also a great way of staying healthy . We encourage you to go ahead and take up cycling. We also want to give you some pointers for buying a bike, as there are plenty of options to choose from and the range of bikes on offer changes constantly.
Where to start
Your budget should be your first concern. As a cyclist who is just starting out, you don’t need to go crazy and buy the most expensive bike on the market.
Do your research and don’t just limit yourselves to the brands your local bike store sells. Check the characteristics of the different types of materials (aluminium, carbon, steel, titanium).
Then you need to think about the components . (brakes, gear components, wheels, and so on). Most cyclists choose a complete groupset . If you are just starting out, then Shimano® is a good option, combined with other (cheaper) components.
