The Hallerbos (the Blue Forest) is the most important and extensive woodland area between the Zenne and Sonien. The forest is a real crowd-pleaser thanks to the stunning blue carpet of wild hyacinths that bloom in the middle of April. The varied landscape offers stunning walking opportunities and makes a visit to this area more than worthwhile.
When you see the young, fresh green beech leaves that are just appearing on the trees, you’ll understand why photographers and nature enthusiasts come to see this amazing woodland from far and wide. Forests with woodland hyacinths are unique in the world.
This is a ‘Family Welcome’ event:
Every EY employee can invite up to 5 family members to join at this event. The payment for every family member has to be made at the moment of subscription by the EY employee, and will be refunded by 100% EY Cashback.
What is ‘Family’? Partners, kids, siblings, parents, and cousins. No friends.
All of the ingredients to create a fantastic walk are present in this unique piece of nature, so you can fully recharge your batteries. Good walking shoes will be required! You’ll probably need suitable clothing too, depending on weather conditions!
2 hyacinth walks :
On this day, you are advised to choose between the two signposted hyacinth walks of either 4.8 km or 5.1 km through the woods. If you are feeling fit enough, you could opt to combine the two.
Participants can start when they like, there are no time limits on this activity.
Participation pack :
The map and vouchers will be provided beforehand. There are toilets in both car parks.
At this time of year, the forest is very popular with tourists. So much so, in fact, that there are shuttle buses which run from the centre of Halle to the forest. So be aware that it may be very busy and parking spaces may be hard to find.
Parking location :
Parking 1 : Hogebermweg, 1500 Halle
Parking 11 : Houtveld, 1500 Halle
The Hallerbos offers a very varied landscape; the marked hyacinth walks are not entirely suitable for wheelchair users. In the centre of the forest (from Achtdreven), right in the hyacinth zone, there is a flat path for less able individuals (1.8 km).

Every participation in a sporting event, where you register via the EY In Motion platform, 100% refunded by EY.
How does that work?
The EY employee is responsible for registering via the button ‘SUBSCRIBE’ on this platform, finalising correctly and paying the event organiser.
A few days after the event, you will receive an email from EY In Motion containing a confirmation link for your participation. This link allows you to confirm your request and claim the ‘EY Cashback’.
We will then check that you took part, with the event organiser. If approved, you will receive an email from email@example.com containing a code and instructions for claiming your event costs.
NB! This EY Cashback is only valid for registrations that correspond to active participation in the event! What if you register but don’t take part, for a valid reason? Click on ‘Cancellation policy’ for more information.
After registration and payment on the (event organiser’s) platform, it is no longer possible to claim a refund of the registration fee if you cancel your participation.
As of registration, the event organiser’s terms and conditions apply. In the event of any uncertainty, check the website for the sporting event itself as the organiser may offer cancellation options.
Have you registered but you can’t take part?
Be aware! Reasons such as insufficiently trained, too much work, a wedding reception, etc. are not valid reasons! Check your diary before you register!
